I won't make the obvious comment like, "My sim is running just fine" or it'll probably go belly up in the next half hour.

Oops, I just said it. Oh well, time to go looking for my ACOF installation disks.  ;D ;D

Actually with all the modifications and tweaking people do to FS9 it's a wonder they aren't reinstalling even more often. Remember, some of the newer add ons are doing things with the sim that it was never intended to do.

It would take me hours to re-install everything.
I might do it over my Christmas holiday when i have more time to.  I've done so much to my sim but i think it would run better if i did do a re-install.

Any recommendations on how to make the process easier and less time consuming?

Also re-installing means i can move FS to my second hdd.

I somehow manage to keep my PC running pretty well. Lets see how long windows has been installed for... 102 weeks, 5 days, 13 hours and 39 minutes...that's a long time! I can't believe I haven't been forced to reformat. Flight Sim takes up 11.6Gb and counting.

Where in windows can you see how long it's been installed?

I used mIRC to find it out. If you have it (along with NoNameScript), you can connect to a server, join a channel (preferably an empty one) and theres a menu when you right click, which can display system info and other "Useful Stuff" as it's labelled.

NEVER do such. It's bad omen. All the Gods are waiting for you to do such a statement to hit you with all their might and make you repent having opened mouth in the matter. I should know. ;D

Mine has its little quirks, but it still doesn't need reinstall for now. What future will bring, we'll see when it'll be on us. ;)

I reinstall my sim from time to time, I delete it, and then just put add ons on it, and when I think it looks good, it

To tell the truth my sim has gone wacko several times since I installed on this computer. I keep a recent copy of the Fs9.cfg named Fs9.cfg_Bak in the same folder. When the sim dies I can usually fix it by deleting the .cfg and copying and renaming my backup copy. This works about 99% of the time. You just have to remember to create a new backup every time you change a setting in the sim.
