I assume you tried a complete Uninstall/Install removing all traces of FS9 before installing it again. This should give you a completely fresh install of FS9. If this doesn't fix it & FS9 has worked perfectly before on the same system it suggests to me that the problem is elsewhere. I would look at anything you installed or changed before the problem occurred. This might include automatic Windows updates, hardware drivers, or even display settings but as I mentioned earlier I have no knowledge of WinXP & have never tried reinstalling FS9.
