Sea Color

Postby Bubblehead » Wed Aug 17, 2005 10:01 am

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

A while back I complained about the color of the sea in my FS9 looking like pastel (bluish green) as opposed to a darker blue. One of the forum members suggested a corrective action which worked. When I had to reinstall the FS9, I lost my previous settings and now the sea color went back to the bluish green color (less realistic). Can anyone help?

FS Water or any other addon water will work just fine. If you want to shell out cash, go with the Flight 1 Water, or Flight 1 flight envirement. Well anyway hope it helps

Or you could just get Bill Lyon's water textures for free here.  They are the best looking ones available anyway...  ;)

I use Waterzone, which provides a natural looking darkness.

There was a package released on Avsim, maybe here too..

So does  fs9wat+darker_water_v2.zip  give you dark waves?

if you don't feel like downloading anything, you can tr y to improve the sea color by tweaking with the water detail and water effects sliders in the display options menu... check if they aren't set to the left, if they are, that's what's probably causing the bad water look

Darth:

I did that and it corrected it. What should the "target frame rate" be? I got an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card.

...and if you are REALLY into tweaking things you could change the actual colour of the textures themselves...now that would be an interesting little job......commoner ;)

I have always used the delightful "Flight Water Pro" by Daniel Ponce in my FS 2000/2002/2004...
...with the water effects sliders moved to the left to show a lovely "blue" moving, textured water, instead of the ghastly default turquoise (blue-green) colour... ;)...!

The only green water I have seen is in my supper-time bowl of pea-soup.. ::)...!
LOL...;D...!
