Are duplicate textures a problem?

Postby cavity » Wed Aug 17, 2005 5:35 pm

I ran a FS diagnostics tool and it pointed out that I have several duplicate textures.  It seems that I have some original textures that I saved before I updated textures for clouds and such.  The originals are on the C drive and the new textures are on the D but they have the same name.  Could this be causing a conflict, I keep getting terrain.dll errors and they often include scenery folders? If so, should I just take the list and rename all the textures on the C drive that are duplicates?  Todd

AFAIK FS will only read scenery textures from the FS9\Texture folder or the Texture subfolders of activated 3rd party scenery wherever these are located. The same principle applies to aircraft textures. I don't see how files on a different drive to your FS9 installation could cause a conflict.
