Hi all, just a quickie!!!!

How do you know what runway ATC is going to vector you to, when you are creating the flight plan.  Its annoying because the route automatically created, in high altitude airways, is almost never the route that ATC directs you too.....

Hey Andy.

The active runway is determined by the winds at the arrival airport-you will be landing into the wind (normally-occasionally you'll have a tailwind if the tower hasn't swiched runways with the winds).

BUT

you don't need to make your course so that it goes directly to the runway!

when you get near to the airport atc will vector you to the active runway. So it doesnt matter if you not lined up with the runway in your flight plan. ok  ;)

Realworld ATC runway-in-use is set by TWR (the same applies in FS9).
P.S. That's the TWR at the arrival airport :-)
