Addon SOUND FILES for aircrafts

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Mon Aug 08, 2005 7:38 pm

If you are new to Flight Simulator 2004 or an average user. Something just crossed my mind. Why haven't I been downloading realistic engine sounds for my aircrafts in FS9 (DOH'  ::))

Simviation has a library of sound files to try out, But AVSIM has a mega library of sound files to try out. The best part is you should check em all out and compare. Some sound much more realistic then others.

Microsoft has duped us with bogus sound files, I beleive to make way for vast improvements. But anyhow I have been doing nothing but downloading sound files and they are totally amazing  :o You just gotta try em out!

All the boeing jets are available, as well as F14 and F16 sound files that are much more better then a default learjet sound file. They have soundfiles for all practical major aircrafts.

I believe the "Real Deal" is really the best.  And instead of downloading everythign separately.  I tend to just boeings to a good 737 sound file.  Unless they have distinct sound like those 777 Trents.

Avsim has a huge library of air engine sound files as well as manufacturer engine sound files! "The Real Deal" does create some of the best sounds, but I find not all of them sound so great.

Example : Boeing 727 and the Dash 8 sound files don't capture the loudness of the engine when it is as at full throttle or the loud sound of the prop engine when you rev that bad boy to high throttle!

All the other files for "The Real Deal" are totally awesome.

A300 engine, Boeing 737, 767, 777, and 747 all sound banging  :o! I love the way the guy captures the spooling sound the engine makes when you rev em up! And when it comes to "Heavies" Like the DC-10 and MD-11 and 747 he really captures the spool sound, the thundering sound of the engine at high pitch and the reverse thrusters are awesome you get the very loud Whining the engine makes when air is forced through it in reverse.

I totally agree with you "On the Real deal" But the 727 and 737 sound files found here at the SimV are the best ones in my opinion.

I just copied the Dash 8 engine sound from an old Dash 8 I found at Avsim (Jamacia Air Dash 8) it sounded the most accurate because I just came off a flight in a Dash 8 and it reminded me of exactly what the engines sounded like!
