From your flight screen, hit ctrl+s, to get to overhead view. Zoom outas far as necessary and compare the image to your world map or atlas. Ctrl+s again to exit overhead view.

As for the reference page(s), not all add-on a/c come with them. You may find some for download for the a/c or you can create your own. They can be html or text files. You would then have to make/modify 2 entries in the aircraft.cfg file.
