I know what you mean Alexander, the only other time I found myself with miscalculated fuel was in... I think it was Bangkok... and I had to land with visibility in the negative numbers with a Bae146 with no autoland. I had so little fuel left that a go-around would have been sheer suicide.

A landing that that will remain in the list of the most infamous ever attempted, though with positive results. Lady Luck didn't make me crash. ;D

You know, to undeline that you're joking or attempting to be a smartarse you should do like I do. Use the emoticons. ;) ;D

No hard feelings, ok? :)

It's funny how many times people have mistook something I said because I refuse to use the emoticons-I think this is about the sixth time, no joke ;D

I have a very, very dry sense of humor and putting in emoticons kind of ruins it for me, so I just kind f count on the sheer absurtdity of the statement to let people know I'm being sarcastic.  I mean, common, who finds planes falling out of the sky funny? (except for me)

The habit of using emoticons to underline what we're writing it's a standard procedure (no pun intended ;D) to let others know how serious we are when we say something.

I can relate somehow to your not wanting to use emoticons because at the beginning of my career of forum user I myself had problem using them. With time I had to adapt, though. It was either adapt or having my writ mistook when sometime I was joking. And it happened both and either when writing English or in my native Italian.

The written word is a lot less expressive than the spoken one, after all. Even more so when writing short messages, like we do here or in other forums.

Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. ;D I'd suggest you adapt, it will be easier on you. ;)

Very wise words, but note my post count.  Twould appear as though I should've already learned yonder lessons already, but instead I choose to remain dry and clean up the mess afterwards ;) ::) ;D

Oh, don't let my postcount deceive you. Yes, I'm quite a youngster of this forum. This doesn't mean I don't grace other forums with my presence. ;D

You said you were a long-time forum poster, I assumed you were seasoned.  I was just refering to me.

This isn't the only forum I grace with my presence either :P ;D

I would imagine that anyone flying IFR has run into this, God knows I have waaay too often for realism.  FS ATC is constantly putting me on final right in the tailpipes of someone on short final, or taxiing someone on the runway just as I am lining up the numbers.

Best way to avoid the three hour tour is to fly the published GA, then open ATC and announce published GA is completed.  You'll then get reasonable approach vectors.

If you don't have proper approach plate, you can use the GPS (even if you don't use it for normal flight operations).  C'mom, it's not really cheating!!

GPS loads your flight plan when you file it.  When you get close to approach, open procedures on gps and choose approach for assigned runway.  Published go around track will show up.  Even if you are not using AP or normally use GPS, you can follow this track, then announce completed published GA to ATC.

Indeed you could 'cheat' and tell ATC you're following a published go-around, then vector yourself with the help of the GPS or FSNav...

...but where? I mean, where should the pilot of the aircraft doing the GA declare it completed, him/her having no charts? Is it ininfluent? :(

Aaaaaaanyway... I'm asking this for those who still use the default ATC. For I am flying ala FS98 (remember the old not-so-good days? ;D) when off line, lately. ;) ;D
