Joystick Compatability

Postby Johnny_Rich » Mon May 30, 2005 10:47 am

I`ve just been given a brand new Throttle Joystick made by a company called Dexxa which is IBM pentium or compatibles which has a 15 pin plug, but there is no such port on my computer, all my ports for such devices are USB. The system i have is windows 2000xp and the Dexxa j/stick states it is for windows 98 and windows 2000.Is there any way i connect this without going to any great expense?. all this just for a HAT-SWITCH !!!

Johnny_Rich,

Sounds like an older joystick gameport connection unit.  There SHOULD be one somewhere on your machine.  Sometimes they are located on older sound cards.  You'd likely have to activate the computer's gameport from the "Devices" - "Game Controllers" setup area though.

Or get one of the relatively cheap "gameport to usb" converters.

best,
