Do a search for it on here, it was just mentioned about 2 weeks ago, it has to do for a NON ILS runway that on the opposite end has a ILS approach, you set the radios up for the ILS approach runway but only follow the localizer on approach to the runway that does not have the ILS, confusing but as mentioned it was just discussed....

It can be used to follow the runway centerline through your departure, provided there is an ILS going that same direction.

Just some extra info for Simmers in Europe or those fly too.  In the real world, the use of Back Course is not permitted. Don't ask, just accept...... ???

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Basically with a back course approach, you have localizer information, but no glideslope, so you will have to manually control your altitude on approach, you still have to tune the Nav 1 radio to the frequency for the ILS....
