There's no official word yet, but HISTORICALLY, the new version comes out the summer prior to the year on the box.

For example, FS2004 was released in like August of 2003.  I'm not saying that will definitely be the case this go 'round, but that's how it has worked in the past.
Great edit, Bob.

You can delete your own posts but not the complete topic. No need to be embarrassed as it was a perfectly reasonable question. In fact nobody answered your original question which was: Should you get FS9 now or wait to see when FS10 is released? I have no idea if there will be an FS10 but I would say hang on a while. ;)

Actually, deleting the question will only mean it pops up again in a few weeks.  If you'd have left it up there, someone else might have had the question answered for them.  As has been mentioned, it comes up all the time! ;)

I think we all are wondering about the next version of FS, particularly in regards to how our add-ons will be compatible, and will it be worth it to upgrade...

I'm pretty convinced I'll need a hardware upgrade to run the next version, and it'll be awhile before I can do that, so I'm not sweating it. FS9 is plenty good enough for me, anyway.
Besides, I'll probably wait for the first patches to come out before I get it... ;)
