Have you ever experienced wind shear?

yesterday, I've flown a 734 from SFO to LAS.
       
During final approach (ILS), about 400-500 ft above the ground, my plane suddenly lost its glideslope which I looked on the HSI. Luckily I got it back in control, but the touchdown was hard i think. Man, almost crash.
       
       Autopilot and auto throttle were still on. The glideslope and localizer indicator seem OK as I started the ILS approach at about 20nm away from the airport. Aircraft weight was below maximum landing weight. Weather was fine, no thunderstorm or raining.
       
       Was it wind shear?

I could be wrong, but I dont think flightsim simulates wind shear....

Wow, you started your approach pretty far out..but as far as windsheer, never experienced it myself

I happened to me quite a lot of times. The most severe case I ever met was in an unforgettable approach I made with the 707 in Airforce One colors to Athens. One of the most poor landings I ever did only because at about 1500 feet AGL the plane began to nose down sharply and applying full power almost didn't save me anyway. Landed it almost accettably.

That FS9 has no wind shear simulated is a thing I heard too, but on field use suggests otherwise. I had cases of windshear in FS9 using either the integrated weather engine or Active Sky, though I could be wrong on the first. Been a while I used the integrated weather.

Active Sky I'm sure simulates windshear, though.

Take a good look at the user-defined weather parameters. You'll see that you can create layers,  adjust the severity of shear between layers and, I think, between air masses horizontally. Seems to generate shear zones when using real-world weather data, as well.

Wind shear is one of the most realistic aspects of FS9 weather. As mentioned.. you can even go in an "create" some incredible shear scenarios. Only problem is.. if you do it yourself.. you know exactly when/where it'll happen.

Have you ever been climbing out and had your airspeed suddenly drop off and get blown 20 or more degrees off heading ? That be shear  ;D

Very severe shear close enough to the surface to ruin an approach is rare when using real-world weather. I haven't experimented much with 3rd party weather programs, but have heard you'll get more, low-level shear with them.

If you press Shift Z a few times you can see the wind speed and the direction. Sometimes great gusts can really throw the aircraft wild and could really make a mess of a landing if caught off guard.

Yeah, there is most definitely wind shear in FS.  Have encountered it on final a efw times myself.

Once I was flying a beech 19D on approach and my aircraft was going all over the place the winds were pusing me AI all over the place I gotter down put not center lined .

Once I was landing a Maule and I would get my Rate of Descent established, only to have the plane begin to drop like a stone, nose down (and the airspeed went up!)

Is that a type of wind shear (I was coming down from 14000)...
