Cessna 340A Update - 'Sound-file ungueltig' Error Message
===========================================
This is for anyone who has DL'd my Cessna 340A Update package and is having a problem.
If you are getting this error, you need to edit your fs9.cfg file which is located in XP at:
C:\Documents and Settings\{your user name}\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\fs9.cfg
The file is a hidden file so you will need to have activated 'show hidden files and folders' in your Windows folder options.
You need to have a section in the file which contains at least 2 entries, as follows
[OLDMODULES]
fssound.dll=1
gaugesound.dll=1
You then need to download fssound.dll and gaugesound.dll and place then in your FS9\Modules folder.
Most people have these nowadays and it didn't occur to me to check whether they were needed.
Someone has found that the Radio Altimeter is the gauge causing the error message. Another solution therefore would be to replace it with another one. This you could do by editing the panel.cfg with Notepad or Wordpad and doing a 'search and replace' for HGHB_KI_250 but you need to make sure that the replacement is a 'round scale' gauge and not one of the 'vertical scale' versions that you see a lot in 'heavy' panels.
