Opinion about classic British airliners???

Postby Gary R. » Wed Mar 09, 2005 7:45 pm

Any of you have experience with Dave Maltby's planes??  I am specifically interested in trying out the 1-11.  Is it similar to a DC-9?  I saw the Allegheny paint with it and got curious because being a PA native and resident I usually try out anything that has Allegheny or USAirways or Peidmont colors available. I was just wondering if the 1-11 or any of those old British birds are good flys.  Thanks

I fly the VC-10 a lot, in fact I just took it around the world. Very fun plane to fly, and quite fast too.

I've got the 1-11's from Dave's site as well as the Comet
and the VC-10.  They all fly quite well and are well done.

I have a single CIVA insatallation in the BAC 1-11 and
a dual CIVA installation in the VC-10.

The site is well supported via the forum:

I definately recomend giving their planes a try...

Okay, thanks for the good recommendations.  I believe I'll update my Fs 2002 VC-10, download the 1-11-200, I think thats the one with my Allegheny paint job, and I'll grab the the Comet as well.  The Comet definatley has a place in Century of Flight because of the historical significance of being the first revenue jet airliner in service, it is a plane of history.
