Dr.Hagar, another interesting experiment. I'll see what results that gives when I get home.

I have that crackling sound with all aircraft. I traced it back to my onboard sound card. When I first had this comp up and running, I had this problem. Then I installed my soundblaster card, and the problem went away. last week, my sound card stopped working for unknown reasons. rather than investigate right then, I just plugged into the onboard speaker jack, and voila, the annoying sound is back. I never think about it unless I am actually flying FS, so I still havnt gotten around to working on the soundcard... ::)

Thanks for the heads up Tacit, but I have the Blaster installed, and this static sound is exclusive to the new Comet I just downloaded. I hope you fix your gear soon. Sounds like a really annoying problem...

Hi again Clipper....well I downloaded the Aircraft..Panel and Sound packages and must say that to my ears at least I can't see (hear) anything at all wrong with the sound package or the rest of the package for that matter.........I don't know what method you used to install the various components but for me it was just a matter of putting the two Comet 106 folders into the main aircraft folder along with the DMFS shared files folder containing the Docs folder the Panel folder and the DH106 Comet 4 Sound Folder. The two smoke effects I dropped into the main Effects folder..just about 30 seconds work.......commoner

Commoner, thanks for the heads up. I was just about to reinstall the whole package again. I'll do it exactly as you did and hopefully I'll achieve the same results you got (although I'm cetain that's how I installed it initially). What do you think of the quality of the overall package? The cockpit instrument detailing is phenomenal, agreed? :)
