Postby GeeOh » Sat Feb 19, 2005 8:22 am

Hey Forumers. ( newbie here )

in FS9 I have a fairly beefy rig running the program
Ath64-3800
1 gig Ram
256 Meg NVidia 5700 Vid Card
& frame rates are great.

It's just that I can't get the sliders to move higher in Settings for terrain detail..
I have it set on Custom- high. Very High..nada
I can check off a few of the boxes..but the sliders won't move.. They're not greyed out..Just supr Glued to the left..LOL

any ideas??

any and ALL help appreciated

thanx in advance

up at the top what is the drop down box set at?

if it's set to medium settings I think some of your other settings are limited....not sure though...

He said it was set on custom. Well crank everything down all the way and go flying. Save the flight under some random name (hey lets call it Random) and set it as default. Takeoff, fly around, crash, whatever, then exit the sim. Come back on, fly "Random" and let it load, should load pretty damn quick too! Now make sure all your settings are down (just look around) then go into the settings and turn everything all the way up. Dunno but maybe FS just needs a shock. If it all goes up, save the flight, exit, come back on, then get back to simming already!

That's a much more powerful machine than mine. I'm not familiar with your video card but it's not possible to have the FS9 settings maxed out on my old thing. I've found that some of those Scenery settings are linked & having one on Full automatically reduces the one linked to it. Ozzy will know more about this than me but it's possible a different driver would fix it or maybe tweak the appropriate entry in FS9 Display.cfg. I've found this gives me different options with my own card. The display settings for the video card itself might also affect it.
