problem with wingview

Postby beefhole » Wed Feb 16, 2005 6:32 pm

I downloaded the simmers' sky MD-11 Delta old colors with VC and was the most impressed by a freeware package as I have been for some time. I never did get around to flying it though, because I was having a problem with the views.

It appears as though the left and right views are actually behind the cockpit, in the cabin somewhere.

For example, I pull up perpendicular to the yellow taxi line. By panning with my hat button (BRAND SPANKIN NEW SAITEK CYBORG EVO!) to my left shoulder, I can see that the cockpit is directly perpendicular to it. If I hit Num4, I am perhaps 10-20 ft behind where the line is (I'm assuming they meant to add a wingview, which I detest).

While this is a minor problem for a freeware package, this makes it unflyable for me (yes, I'm picky). I was wondering if anyone knew of any .cfg fixes that have been released for this, and if not, where the camera points are, so i can experiment moving them up.

Thanks a lot guys!

I remember reading somwhere that you the aircraft.cfg controls the default viewpoints on an aircraft, under [views].

[Views]
eyepoint = -19.05, -1.97, 9.7              ; Longitude, Latitude and Vertical position from Reference Point, (FEET)
(747)

See if there are any other entries here...perhaps deleting one of those might fix it.  (Hint: make a back-up copy before ya do anything.)

Since apparently noone here knows of a .cfg update, i suppose I'll just mess around with it until I get what I want. thanks again.
