First off, try reducing the fuel load to 25%. Then don't use T/O setting or autothrottle. Use 20% Flap setting. This will get you up and flying. Just remember to keep airspeed under 250 below 10,000ft. Work from that and read up on all the threads here. That'll get you going at least, welcome to SimV ;D

On some of Posky aircraft they are overweight with 100% fuel (apparently this is true to life). I have their 757-200 and its the same. Only thing is the Centre of gravity is right on the nose which Im sure cant be right. And as payload is set to zero and only one station I cant se how to alter this.

You can try to edit the air file, you will need a air file editer for this look for AIRED I think that is what it is called. If this does not work or you are not sure what to edit try contacting POSKY maybe they can help. 8)

Classic opensky, aircraft that look great and fly pretty good but have absolutely no attention paid to the weight/balance and CG. Try going to www.projectopensky.com, going to their forums, and downloading new FDEs for the 747.  I did it for my posky 752 and it worked.

I sorted the problem, I installed another FDE (aircraft.cfg) and found the lines that related to payload weight, I edited these and now my c.o.g. is bang on and editable in all positions without altering the original figures.

It's not necissary to reduce fuel to 25%.  I'll let you in on a little secret you may not know-pilots use mach to cruise.  One of my favorite all-time routes is KLAX to YSSY (and/or back), about 12.5 hours.  When I did using 310KIAS at FL400 as my cruising speed (back in my n00b days  :-[), I landed with just enough fuel to taxi.  Using MO .85 lets me land with 100,000+lbs of fuel.

Increasing the thrust can be done through the .air file, I believe.  (though it's not recommended)

As far as I am aware you will not need to edit the .air file. As I said in an earlier post I sorted the same problem in a posky 757-200 by installing a new FDE and editing the aircraft.cfg file.
To edit the ,cfg file all you need do is double click on it,
choose 'Open from a list' deselect the green tick 'always open this filetype with this program' (very important otherwise it wont work again) and then open with Notepad.
The editing is very simple and I'll tell you which lines if you like (though I take no responsibilities).

If you do go anywhere near this file don't forget to make a back up first.

Okay I have checked it out. You need to go to the Posky Forum and go to the FDE forum.
There is a sticky post called Location of latest FDE's etc
Go there and follow the link to the aircraft of your choice and download it.
There is also a manual for each aircraft in there.

There will be several folders in the download, choose the aircraft model you require for example 747-200 or 747-300.

Open the folder and there will be several .air and .cfg files.
These are slightly different dynamics for different versions, for example one may be for Rolls Royce engines and one for PW engines.

Choose which one you want then copy the .air and the .cfg of the version you have chosen into your aircrafts main folder and rename the .cfg to aircraft.cfg for it to work and hey presto you will find the CG is okay.

You only need to edit the .cfg file if you want to create stations for the payload for example 1st class passenger weight, second class weight, fwd hold weight etc. This is simple to do and i'll tell you if you need the info.

Hope that helps
