help help flight sim 2004

can any body help

i am very new to flight sim
and i have been reading some of the forum
i am looking for millitary planes and scenery
for downloads and for furture traffic.
can anyone tell me what i need to put the downloads on to flight sim to make them work. and where to put the file in flight sim please.
