Joystick problem?

Hello all, this is my first time posting to this forum.  I have flight simulator 2004 and have been using it for a few months.  I used to have 2002.  I am using a logitech wingman attack2 joystick.  I keep haveing a problem with any aircraft that I fly, the plane wants to nose up and always turns to the right.  I tried to re-calibrate the joystick and even uninstalled it but nothing seems to be helping.  I have had this problem from time to time in 2002 also, but after awhile the problem cleared up.  Has anyone had a similar problem or knows a fix.  Thanks alot.

I had that problem with my Logitech joystick. Got worse by the day so I changed it to a Thrustmaster which crapped out on me for no reason either, so I now run a Saitek X45 which gives me no bother. Strange thung though was when my Thrustmaster gave up and before I got the Saitek, I plugged in the Logitech again and it worked ok  ???

Have you tried resetting the trim on your aircraft?

If you don't know how:

Load up one of the default Cessnas.  Check the trim settings for all the control surfaces and adjust as necessary.  Then save the flight and make it the default.  That should solve the problem.  If it doesn't, try reinstalling FS as a very last resort.

You know, in CFS2 on the Zone, where I flew for many years, there were several fellas that had given up on their sticks stating, "They just quit working" OR "They have been acting funny".

Before you trash that stick fellas, let me tell you what I learned. ANY USB connected stick can and will in time start acting up. The cause you ask............dirty USB connection.

Hence logjams' experience of later plugging in his Logictech again after not using it for awhile and it all of suddenly, magically was ok.

My MS Sidewinder (USB) will occasionally act up. Acft. pulling one way or the other when I am rolling for take off. And no it is not torque. lol      Pause game, check calibration and that says it is ok. BUT, if I just unplug my joystick, plug back in, sometimes a different slot (and I have plenty of USB slots) VOILA!! She is working fine again.


Worth a try boys and girls before you go out and buy another stick, unless you just want another one.  ;)

Hate to say it, but I've had similar problems with my Logitech Wingman stick.  The problem that I've noticed has to do with the rudder (twist) control.  If I use auto-rudder, then no more problems accept for a little bit of problems taxiing as you can still twist the stick.  

I've tried this on two different computers and come up with the same result.  Knowing me.. I'll start taking things apart and see if there's anything to fix (doubt it).
