Help with Sounds and Radar

Postby Fly4U » Sun Nov 14, 2004 8:43 pm

I have an aircraft that has Eric Marciano's Radar and altitude callouts during landing as well as a GPWS "whoop whoop, pull up!".  I would like to add these features to many other aircraft that I have.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Is it very difficult?  I am a "real" pilot and these features would be fun to have and make it a little more like the real thing I am use to.

Fly4U,

Hi and welcome to SimV.

If you head down to the "Scenery and Panel Design" forum I think you'll find the info you need already posted in a thread or two.  You'll have to do a bit of a search.   Or re-try this question down there.... if a mod of this section doesn't move it first  ;).

best,

Hey Fly4U,

Even i'm struggling with that. I have all the GPWS and would love to have them on an aircraft but sadly cannot figure out how.

If anyone knows how to assign these callouts to an aircraft please help us out guys.

Thanks.

Hi guys.
I tried this over and over untill I made it .

Goto the aircraft that has GPWS,open the panel folder, open the panel.CFG (if it's not opening you can open it by choosing a program like notepad or wordpad)
Make a backup copy of the panel.CFG !!
This process should be made under the MAIN window of the panel.CFG ,to make it run in the main panel.
In the panel.CFG go to the line that has the same name of the GPWS sound (check the name in the MAIN FS SOUND folder.)
For example mine is called IFDG AIRBUS 330 CALLOUTS.
This line appears as a gauge in the panel.CFG
copy this line and paste into to your desired panel.CFG aircraft, and rename the GAUGE number at the end of the line, for example

Thanks Gabel,
But non of my aircrafts have GPWS. I mean i only have the sounds but cannot assign them to the aircraft. I can hear the sounds in winamp but not in my flights.
Any suggestions??

Get Fly4U to send you the panel.cfg of whatever aircraft he has them in.  Then just copy the relevant lines out of there and paste them in like gabel said.

VOHY,you can do the same process as I mentioned not just to the GPWS.
Look for the CALLOUTS and do the same process.
