Question about Gs

I have learned from you (all?) that there are no stupid questions, so:

When you hit shift Z twice you have a lot of information. But what does  Gs mean and why is it almost allways   + 1? What happens when it says + 0.8 or + 1.2?

Gs is the level of G-force experianced by the aircraft as i remember. +1 is normal gravity, ie your experiencing +1 now, in real life, when your flying, pull a sharp banked turn, and the G will increase. push over, and it will go negative (weightlessness!!) Fighters like the F16, and Typhoon and others can pull up to and above +9 G, this is when your pilot begins to black out... pushing negative G causes Red Out, its all to do with blood moving away from your brain (black) and into the eyes (red)

The easiest way to explain G is that it's same effect you get on a rollercoaster. I imagine most people have been on one.

I thought it had something to do with GroundSpeed but I couldn't figure it out...

Gravity, and than it's + 1, I see, or some more or less.

Just remember +-1G if you weigh around 160Lb is doubled at +2G. Now you couch potatoes out there better not weigh in at 250Lb now unless you can bench press your whole family and the dog too!

Thanks Eskimo - I've noticed that there's a lot of fun over here. But my English and my flying-skills are sometimes not enough to know if it's a serieus answer or not.
So I try everything you tell me - better change my name in ' anonymus victim '(of American humor?).

At Zero - G you'll feel like you weigh nothing. At minus G you feel the harness straps really pressing onto your shoulders (unless you don't strap in...)

G's a stupid invention really - it's why by next year I'm gonna have to bench press 60% of my body weight... Hagar knows how tall I am, so he'll appreciate how much that'll be...
