I'm sorta busy right now, so I'm not going to be able to repost the problem.  Look in the previous posts.  It happens with all aircraft.

I'm sorta busy right now,

If you don't want my help that's fine with me.  I'm too busy to look through all your other posts right now.

OK. If you're prepared to do it my way maybe we can figure this out. The more information you can give me the easier it is for both of us. If I can't figure it out it's possible someone like Roger can suggest something.

I work systematically & go right back to basics, concentrating on one problem at a time. Once we fix that we can go on to another one & so on. If I've never experienced a problem before I try to duplicate it on my own system & figure a way out of it. I'm even prepared to download & install 3rd party aircraft if you tell me exactly where to get them & providing they're posted here at SimV. My method might take a while but a lot depends on my feedback from you & how interested you are in fixing the problem. It's usually been successful in the past & turns out quickest in the long run.

You seem convinced that your problems are with your copy of FS9. Providing it's a legitimate copy & not a pirated or backed up version I'm equally convinced it's not likely.

Yes, the chances of it being my diskset are minimal to none, but you have to understand I've been over this problem a million times, and when getting a new computer doesn't solve the problem it leaves only one thing-the fs9 disks.  Once again, I know this is very unlikely but this problem has been death-defyingly persistent.  The most puzzling thing to me is that the problems carried over from my old system, an absolutely unimaginable feat considering that I assumed these problems (especially the electrical failure one) were simply corrupt files that were not being fully uninstalled every time I re-installed the game.  It's the world's first airborne corrupted file!  A re-install may be in order, just to see if maybe this time the re-install will fix it.  And of course I'd be willing to try it your way.  I don't believe it's addon aircraft (actually I'm sure) but all I have installed as of right now are the eclipse 2k5 and the xb-70 (sorry I don't have the authors names on me, I'm not around my computer).

Umm, a quick note maybe I should have mentioned this earlier-my entire oldC and oldD ( I had two disk drives on old comp; fs9 was on D) are on my computer, however fs9 is wiped from my oldD.  Is it possible there are ghost traces of the fs9 files floating around, interfering with the current one I'm running? Thanks for the help, Hagar.

Wow, this just might work.  Becasue of previous experiences where I was horribly let down (that dance in 7th grade, no puppy in 3rd, no gta on christmas, no inheritance from my father... oh, and all the letdowns I've had from fs9) I'm gonna try not to get my hopes up but since I just installed the game a week ago and have done very little flying I have no objections to a re-install, except that I've been having serious graphics problems that seemed to have eased off a bit but I'll sort that one out later.  And you assumed correct that I am perfectly capable of locating the .cfg.  I'll get on it.

This seems to be the most logical explanation. If it doesn't work it's back to the drawing board.

Good luck.  ;)

Oh god oh god please don't hit me...

I would be in a corner right now.  In the fetile postion, in nothing but my underwear.  But alas, after my last test flight I felt, well, compelled to tell my story.  You see, for not only all of my vast knowledge of not only FS but of real world aviation could I have known that in order for the spoilers to be armed, THE THROTTLE CANNOT BE AT IDLE. I'm sorry, please don't kill me...

I'm just messin around, but 'twould appear as though I wasted everyone's time on the spoiler thing-I didn't know that it simply deployed if you attempted to arm it with the engine at idle.  I never armed it in the air becasue I figured my spoilers would just pop up and casue a catastrophic loss of airspeed ( I used to manually move it into the armed position, just for realism-they didn't actually deploy automatically, I had to hit /).  Well, I was messin around, flying out of the space shuttle landing facility near Orlando (I practice engine-out everythings there, 15000 ft runway) and as I was climbing past 16000 I figured "ahh, what the hell, might as well mess around and deploy my spoilers" and, ha, what a surprise. :o  They moved to the armed position, not the deployed position.  Umm, so, ya sorry bout that    :P

Seriously, I should have tested more.... wow I'm such a moron.  Umm, ya, so about those electrical failures...

LOL I know very little about auto-spoilers myself as I'm more used to aircraft without any. However, I checked out the B747-400 earlier & came to the same conclusion. I was wondering how to suggest it without upsetting you. :o :P ;D

I'm not sure about the electrical failures. Hadn't got round to that one yet. I suspect deleting fs9.cfg might fix it. (Might be best to move it to a temp folder to back it up.) A new CFG should be written when you next run FS9. With a little luck & a following wind that should do the trick.

Thanks a lot Hagar, you would've been invaluble if there had been a real problem.  HAHA

The electrical failure is puzzling, but I believe it can be resolved-I just don't want it happening right before I'm about to depart on a 13 hour flight I've been waiting to do for months!  :P

I think us two will get on fine. ;)

Please try my suggestion & delete fs9.cfg.

Well, I just did a traffic pattern in the 737 (I just learned traffic patterns on a real cessna, eager to try it out in a jet  ;D) and, well.... I'm concerned.  The electrical failure didn't pop up.  What am I going to constantly complain about now that I have a RED HOT topic?  If the elctrical failure comes up again, ohh, I'll be back, you can count on that...
