As another alternative, why not just download Ken Mitchell's panel for the default Lear?

It has a full electrical panel and looks a heck of a lot better anyway

Since I knew about Ken's panel, I thought it better to say I knew, commoner  :)

I slightly get the willies seeing people being advised to monkey with FS9 files when there's a ready alternative.

Far too many 'Help - FS9 has stopped working' threads on here already for my liking!

Point taken Nav regarding messing with files but not convinced that a panel.cfg would come into that category.......I've seen far worse advice that that offered as "Gospel" over the years. Don't lose sight of the fact that many downloaded aircraft and panels require one to "mess around" with files too eh?....it's so easy to make backup copies these days and with the

Yes, this did help Mark, thanks all.  I used the Bell switch suggested by Webb and it looks great!  
As for whether or not it's easier to edit the cfg file or just download something new, I personally don't have a problem opening up Notepad and tweaking the numbers.
