Welcome to the forums.

Hows about you go look in the Downloads section of this site ..... I'm sure that you'll find something of interest.

And no, there isn't anything to do other than fly.  But once you've done it, you'll understand how that's no small task.
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

I guess the download question has been covered. Lots of them in the download section.

Nope nothing to do but fly. Well, maybe you can download a boat or car to use in the sim but those are mostly novelties. Fun to play with for a while but they get dull pretty soon.

I'll venture to guess you didn't mean that literally.

And when you finally get used to the flying and scraping the runways, you can get into the designing of all of it.  You can design everything from the color of the paint on an aircraft, to an entire city you made up on your own. ;)

BTW - I just tried to register to become one of the BFU pilots, but I can't get onto the forums because the webmaster has deemed it necessary to forbid either a yahoo OR a hotmail address to register. >:(

So what should I do?  I have no email address that I could register that isn't public access . . . ???

Try flying into Nanaimo British columbia runway 16
340 approach.
That should keep your game intresting.
Have fun :) :)

Thats not such a hard one, they missed out on having Hwy 19 modelled in as close as it is in real life....but I guess it all depends on what you are trying to get in there with............... ???

That would be Nanaimo-Collishaw at Cassidy, just north of Ladysmith........ ;D

I'll answer these in order...

Scenery that doesn't cause lag ..... thats all trial and error and dependant on your settings, system and graphics card. Much the same as the aircraft you download.

Flying on line .... Check out the multiplayer forum at the bottom of the forums.

cheers

Hi,

I'm new here myself so still don't know that much but from what I've done so far ...
As for downloads I've downloaded the extra traffic(British airways) and than can be more realistic (having to wait to taxi out in a queue, avoiding the BA 747 that's about to land on your head etc.)
Also I think I may be turning into an anorak, last night I spent about 20 minutes parked at the side of the Heathrow runway watching planes take off

Last night I spent a fraction of the time flying (i.e. with the joystick), most of the time was spent setting up the flight plan, setting radios, adjusting the heading (using the autopilot), talking to the Air traffic controllers etc. In a one hour run I probably only spent 10 minutes actually flying the thing myself. There is a lot to do other than actually flying the plane if you want to make a realistic trip it seems.

Wow! I never knew there was this much to flying!

Thanks alot everyone i will do some training and learn what this is all about!

Several places wont accept "disposable" email addy's for sign-up, such as Yahoo or Hotmail. Vatsim is one of those, I didnt know about Bush because I have never tried to sign up there, most want an IP addy  :o
