water textures

Postby choffer » Sun Oct 24, 2004 11:50 am

since the standard water textures for fs2004 are so bad, I have been trying to install some new ones. But every time i start up the sim after i have added the new texures i cant see them, the water is still bad. i have done everything that the readme files say.

i can sett the water slider in the display settings to high, and i have a good computer with a good graphics card.

Can anyone please help me. thanks

Some even pretty decent graphics cards don't do the FS 2004 water textures very well. Why, I have no idea. Water looks good in other games but MSFS water doesn't.

It strikes me tjhat if you are seeing the default water textures you have not installed the new textures properly. The usual method is to back up the original textures - specified in the new textures file - & overwrite/replace them with the new ones. Are you doing this?

A lot of people skimp over Readme's & miss a simple yet vital instruction.

From my experience these water upgrades work for the majority of users so I would guess your problem will have simple solution.

Yes, because this way effects can be added to the water by FS.
