Flying Boats in FS2004

I have downloaded the Kingfisher from Simviation and as with other flying boats it sit on the runway and does not move enough to fly. The short Sunderlanmd is the same.
Any help would be appreciated?

Yeah, you have to Slew (Y) it into a Lake or search through the Airports for a Waterway or something

My favourite test water runway in FS2002/4 is Evers, just off Manhattan. I find it easy to remember & it saves hunting around. Type the name Evers in the Aiirport selection box & away you go.

To elaborate on Ivan's comment - seaplanes and/or float planes CAN be amphibious - with retractable landing gear for  - what else? landing. But some float-and sea-planes are not. They can only operate off water. You won't have a lot of success trying to drag a pure seaplane off a paved runway since it has no wheels. (Although float-plane pilots in the North have been known to use snowy and wet grass surfaces in a pinch)  Cheers!
