engine throttle cutting off

Postby multimo » Tue Oct 19, 2004 12:13 am

I have the CH yoke and recently my engine cuts out after takeoff.  This happens in all aircraft( default and add-on) so I don't think it is specific to any particular aircraft.  Can anyone help because this is obviously ruinining my flying.

Thanks.

Just check to see if the Airport you are taking off from is unusually high. If so, you'll need to adjust the mixture and power settings.

Do you have any other devices plugged in other than your joystick.  I have Real Flight for RC Planes... and if I have that controller plugged in... bad stuff happens   ;D

Also chekc ALL of the joystick assignments, as one could be set for engine cuttoff.  Has happened to me on more than one occasion!;)

Thanks for responding so quickly.

logjam, is the flight model that detail in FS9 that it simulates high elevation mixture and power settings?

MadDriver, that helped.  I unplugged all my other USB devices except the yoke and pedals but that didn't do the trick.

Ender, yep. I have been customizing the assignments and it probably got the throttle axis all out of wack.  I reset it to the defaults, recalibrated and it seemed to do the trick.

I was able to fly from JFK to IAD and back tonight without any engine cutoff.

Man, it feels good to be able to do that without falling out of the sky!

Thanks again to all of you.
