beefhole I don't have a joystick twist to use, I use PH Pro Pedals for rudder. I just thought adding autorudder would be unrealistic so I left it out. Nav, thank you for all the help, I appreciate your advice with everything. I'm going to fly some more with FS and see how it goes, maybe I just need more time to get a better hang of it that's all. Thanks again everybody. .

Nav, yes I have rudders but I never said I turn with them, of course I don't. I turn the airplane with ailerons and only use rudder to correct the turn, or like you said, get the ball in the middle (and I also use it for ground steering as well). I knew how to turn an airplane even before I did Lesson 2 in FS, but the problem was that it kept banking to the left because of p-factor and kept at it so it was almost impossible for me to maintain the same heading for longer then 3 seconds. I constantly had to hold the joystick to the right just to level the plane out. Now I think I am learning to handle it a bit better, I noticed when I fly faster it is much easier for me to control the plane and keep it in straight flight.

PS

Sorry about your hair Nav ;D, and if you ever want to fly together, here's me ICQ 157733989

there is nothing wrong with my joystick, it's a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar

Glad to see someone else is finding use out of their Cougar! ;D  I own one also, and wonder why I waisted my time with the Microsoft Force Feedback thingamajig. ;D

The bad habits I can see picking up from FS is lazy flying.  I was flying real planes long before I was using FS.  Going into FS I had a great understanding of proceedures and how things should be, so it was easy to adapt my flying to FS. ;D  Going the other direction I can see how it might be more difficult to break bad habbits, because you might not know something about real flying, until you experience it. ;D

Sounds like it's coming right for you, Retal - great!

I did what I should have done before - did a takeoff myself in the 172.  Haven't flown it for years, I'd forgotten what an under-powered 'dog' it is.  It certainly is VERY easy to try to climb out at too steep an angle, and get the airspeed 'stuck' at about 60 knots - which produces very much the symptoms you describe.

I should have thought of doing that earlier.  My excuse is that I originally learned to fly in gliders, with no engine at all - so keeping the pitch right and the airspeed up is second nature to me!

I suggest that you have a 'holiday' from the Cessnas, and have a couple of 'joy-flights'.  Try the Mooney Bravo - similar handling to the Cessnas, but about twice the power.  Or 'go for broke' and have a go in the Learjet!  ;)

Wow codered, that's exactly what's going on with me.  The only diff is that I was flying virtual before real.  I have these reflexes and habits from FS that are hard to shed after thousands of hours flying virtually and only 5.2 in reality!  Oh well, they say you stop killing people when you taxi after four hours and mastery of the aircraft comes after eight.

I did what you suggested, I just changed it. I wanted my realism to the max to make it as much realistic as possible
