Wellington crash

Postby fellowtraveller » Fri Oct 08, 2004 10:58 am

I have just downloaded new scenery for Wellington airport.  When I try to go there, the scenery either opens but within 5 secs I am told there has been a building crash, or before the scenery opens a message comes up saying there is already an airplane in that location and I have to chose another.  Any ideas?

Afraid this often happens with 'old' (FS2000 onwards) sceneries. What sim version does your scenery say it's for?

I have also known of it happening because the elevations of the airfield and the figure kept in the sim are different (can be adjusted using JABBgl.exe).

In my experience the aircraft thing can happen if you have an AI flight plan in place - but the aircraft in question hasn't actually been installed so you can't see it.

I suggest you go to any other airport for starters then turn off crash detect.  Then go to Wellington it should not crash you will more than likely find your plane burried in a building. You should be able to use AFCAD to move the gate starting points. Make sure you check all of the gates. If you are burried in the ground there might not be a whole lot you can do. I am not sure if afcad will change the elevation or not. 8)
