Engines spark and smoke

Postby HeavyMetal » Sun Oct 10, 2004 8:05 pm

All the engines on all of my heavies are shooting sparks and trailing black smoke after take-off. Is this caused by something in the "effects" folder??

thanks

nothing I can think of lately.  I think I downloaded a couple of B737's though.  Usually I fly at daylight, but as I was trying to get a screenie for the contest I was flying at night and noticed all these red dots shooting from the engines. I thought at first that my monitor was on the fritz. After landing I realized that it was my engines.

the problem should be situated in the Effects of your fs9. Just sort them by date and youll see which one could be responsible for that behaviour.

It is also very possible that the engines were damaged during one of your previous flights (most likely during landing) and then you saved the flight and made it the default.  Doing that will make every aircraft you load come up with the same standing situation as the one before it.  If the lights are all on when you save a game, the lights will all be on when you start the game again, even if you are flying a completely different aircraft.

also have a look in the aircraft.cfg of one of these heavys and check the [effects] and [smokesystem]
subsections and see if there is any effect there that could be causing this. cheers.  ???
