Postby haytham » Sat Oct 09, 2004 5:36 am

Dear simmers
every time i make a short flight arround an airport and then land,i try to see it again through the replay in the option menue, but every time i select more than 500 seconds and press ok,it starts to replay but on the red replay bar in the buttom left of the screen,i noticed that the numbers do not drop correctly, for example,it should be 500 then 499,498,497 etc....,what happenes is 500,480,472,690 and so on,and then it just stops and it goes exactly as if the replay is finished, every time it do that i notice that even when it is replaying ,you can hear the full thrust sound but the plane still don,t move and then it moves, strange ha?
please please please,if anyone has any idea what can be done,i will be very greatfull, knowing that i have dowloaded the fs9 update and i have a cutting edge computer and video card and the original flight simulator 2004,i never use copies, thanks

May i suggest using Video Recorder to replay longer flights than permitted when using Instant Replay.

Haytham,  First let me say, welcome to SimV!  I too experience what you're talking about.  The length of the replay has nothing to do with the problem.  I have replayed 4000 sec. flights with absolute jitter free quality and smoothness of a DVD movie.  Yet sometimes it does exactly what you said, even in a 800 sec. flight.  I posted this exact problem a while back and got no responses.  I took that as I was the only one who ever experienced this problem.  I did realize that it occurred more often with addon (freeware) aircraft than with default.  I started watching the seconds countdown carefully until it jumped to the flight end and noted the number where it happened.  Then I went back to the instant replay selection window and set the number of seconds back up to about 15 or 20 seconds after it happened and started replay.  It then played flawlessly to the end of the flight.  This has worked every time it happens to me.  But I, like you, still don't know whats causing it.  I even tried to remember if I made any changes in settings in mid flight, which might start it as a new flight from that point.  I'm still experimenting with it.  If I get to the root of the problem, I'll let you know.
Surely someone else here, other than us has experienced this and may have a solution.........Jerry
