Should I or shouldn't I thats a hard question

Hi

I have been considering upgrading to FS9 for a while but still haven't made my mind up.

At Christmas i'm going to get the VFR scenery for the UK and one of those British Airfiled packages (the one that covers Wales).

I know these add ons work in FS2002 and FS9 but does it look better or worse since FS2002 is capable of showing a higher LOD number than FS9 thus more detail being shown.

Also if FS9 more Frame rate friendly than FS2002 and will my system run it? At the moment i can run FS2002 @ anything below 30 fps (average is about 25 fps) with everything maxed and Terain Details unchecked.

Is it worth upgradeing since i have just started enjoy FS2002 with all the add-ons installed or should i wait till FS2006 comes out?

Depends on your system specs really Stiz.
I'm running a PIII 1ghz with 512mb RAM and a Ti4600, and with a little tweaking she runs as well if not better than FS2k2. I'm more than happy So yeah I'd say she was worth it

I don't know exactly what my specs are but its roughly

AMD Athlon something or other
Geforce 4 MX440
512mb RAM
A hugh hard drive (got 73.5 gigs left with TONS of stuff instaled, FS2002 in at around 30gigs  :o)

If you can run it i think i might be able to run it OK.

Yeah, I think fs9 is 39.99 quid still. If you wanna get the VFR scenery for UK, I recommend GAME if you have a reward card. I bought all of mine with the deals where you get 3 for 40 quid. I just bought all 4 sceneries, British Airports south east (had to get gatwick and heathrow) and the PSS A340. Some games may be overpriced but they also have some great deals in GAME (and no, I'm not some marketing person trying to persuade you to stop by your nearest GAME store...Or am I, lol )

Once I made the jump to FS9, I never looked back at FS2002.  I am forgeting what it looked like.  Good thing I don't loose sleep over it.

If you look at this Mt St Hellens shot from fs2002 and fs2004. I like fs2004 a hole lot better after building my new system I have not put fs2002 back on.

Heya Stiz,

As Ozzy says it really depends on your PC stats.  To find your specific PC stats do this:

If you are running Windows XP simply click on Start>Run then type in dxdiag (Uppercase or Lowercase).  Click OK.  A DirectX Diagnostic Tool Window will appear.  Click on the button on the lower right that's labeled "Save All Information".  Save the file on your C:\ drive.  Next open up your C:\ drive and look for a file named Dxdiag.txt.  Open it with MS Notepad.  In here you will find all of your PC System Stats as well as everything about your drivers, updates, & etc.
