Postby L1011blonde » Mon Oct 04, 2004 6:01 pm

Sorry if my choice of topic seems lame, but I was wondering, what airport in the state of Washington is the closest to Mt. St. Helens?

Fly to Rainier, and you can see it in the south, if you're lucky and it's a clear day ;D

Quickest way I know if - go to Cougar, Washington - MSH is a few miles due north from there.

Allosaurus, you must have an aftermarket terrain map, right?  That's kinda what my MSH looks like with the USA Extreme terrain map.

Note that (even on the stock terrain map) the area affected by the 1980's eruption is covered by different vegitation.  When you fly over the area the blast zone from that eruption is a lighter texture.  You can't really see it in allosaur's picture but it's obvious when you fly over.

Thats a fs2002 shot that I took way back, At the time that I took that I had just gotten fsGenesis teran mesh sceanery (payware). I now have fs2004 but have not gotten around to flying out that way with the FSGenesis installed yet, but I know that it will look better than the fs2002 shot, and sence then I have built a new system. Thaks for the comments.
