Beautiful as it is (and it is very beautiful!); this Corsair is rapidly turning into the Rod Serling topic of the week here. :D
Seems there are three factions: one that experiences no torque; one that experiences powerful torque; one that experiences so much torque the bird does a pretty fair Starsky and Hutch inpression the moment you apply the least bit of throttle. That's the camp I belong to, unfortunately.

All from the same plane. Very, very odd. (I'm assuming that people in all 3 camps are using full settings. If not everyone; then enough to establish a baseline.)

I looked at the .cfg and found the torque and P-factor was set to 4; or 4 times normal. I twiddled with my own copy of the plane and found that reducing these two stats to 1.5 makes for an acceptable compromise; making the aircraft pretty tough to get off the ground; but possible.

I really really hate to screw with another person's fine work; but my copy of the Corsair was simply unflyable - or at least un-takeoff-able. ::)

If you're in that 3rd camp, fly at 100% and are looking for a fix; I suggest making the mentioned adjustments - it might solve your problem. :)

Hello
The corrective for Corsair F4u-7 is now available in the section Vintage.
This patch corrects the problems of takeoff of Corsair F4U-7 and a new flight dynamic. Also adds a new 3D model Corsair AU-1 with two new textures and supplementary possibilities for repainters.

Just d/l the update and it is nice. No need for autorudder, and even the breaks seem to be better.

Now if I can just keep the engine running when I start up with it.

Steve, you're right, its now a breeze. Had to go to 100% reality to get back some challenge. Re: engine start, close the throttle quadrant display and double-check that the magnetos are both on. (Switch is on the left side of the 2D panel) Works for me. Alpha Bleu Ciel, thanks for a super aircraft and patch!!

dodger, thanks for the tip about the start switch. I hadn't found it yet, been using ctrl+E to start. Sure is a dream to fly now.
