Pitch settings not holding

If it not one thing its another ;)

I'm using the Saitek X45 joy stick and I have the elevator pitch , down/up, assigned to buttons 2 & 3 respectivly.

The problem is that after I set the pitch for level flight if I touch the joy stick to turn I lose the pitch settings.

Has anyone had this problem and how to correct it?

I have the Pitch assigned to the hat (the one other than the one other than the one that has you look around in the VC).

Does the pitch trim indicator change...the wind in the game will make a difference!

If the AP is engaged... it can alter your trim settings right back as soon as you try to change them.

jordonj: Some of the AC don't have a pitch control and those that do I haven't noticed if it moves back to center.

John: AP is not engaged.

This is happening on all ACs, And very little to no wind.

Sounds like maybe you made assignments for the 'pitch down (elevator)' and 'pitch up (elevator)' which is the actual elevator control which are normally assigned to num8 and num2, and the joystick y axis.

Dave that is what I had done. Changed it to elevator trim and it works much better.

The funny thing is that in the cessna when I now work the trim buttons, the pitch wheel on the panel moves, it didn't move when I had the buttons assinged to the pitch control. ???

Steve, FYI I have the #3 hat (on the X45 throttle) assigned to pitch and aileron trim functions, mainly 'cause I'm not wiggling that hand much and figured I would have less chance of inadvertent actions. Of course you probably have other priorities for that hat - which is why we have an X45, right?

Dodger:  Used to have something assigned to that hat switch, but removed it cause I tend to rest my finger on it. Some of the other settings that I have are:

Fire Button D= flaps down in stages

mouse cursor control= view forward / backward

mouse fire button= flaps up in stages

pinkie switch= speed break

Just to name a few.

Have you been able to figure out how to use the AUX., and Mode 1 switchs?
