Weather Problem

I've been trying to d/l real world weather, ie the hurricain off cuba, but all I get is clear or partly cloudy skies.

Am I missing something?

Maybe everyone in those weather stations evacuated and therefore data not being updated.

Every time there is a major storm and I try "real world weather"....... it is totally disappointing.  It always seems to be FAR less severe than in real life.

I think the weather engine in fs2004 is VERY limited in what it can do.

Thanks guys I was begining to think it was my program. Really disapointing wanted to try out a coast gaurd c130.

Best thing to do if you want to experience that is to do a user defined weather in the advanced settings and make it as close to hurricane weather as possible.

Yes John, Active Sky is awesome. You need to set Microsoft's weather totally off, then you open the Active Sky Engine and she will download weather in real time. The skies are constantly changing. Active sky also comes with all its own cloud textures! And if that is not enough, it also comes with weather Radar that also works in real time but I can't figure it out  ::)

Last i checked . . . Hurricane Ivan passed Grenada and was heading west to Jamaica. this means (to me) Ivan is basically in the middle of the ocean (middle-of-nowhere?) and thus there are no weather reporting points used by FS9/Jepp weather generator.

No I don't have it, did a search for it but found nothing.

it seems like a cool little program, althought it looks as if it would bring most computers down to very low fps.
