Nearest airport list.

Postby Robert_Bance » Fri Aug 13, 2004 7:54 pm

I have activated ( installed) numerous airstrips, [some were abandonned].. And of course,  I can see them in my airport list, as well on the map. I can even fly GPS to those places. But  they don't appear  in the list when the option  " Nearest airports" is keyed in. I'd like to know why and mostly what to do to have them shown.
Anyone ????

I used FSSC and Afcad to install these airports. and the files are in the Scenery folder each with their own folders ( plus Scenery and textures). Like I said, they appear on the map and also in the airports list., but when flying in their proximities, their ICAO will not show when prompted thru " Nearest aiports"

This question begs another: Why don't default FS9 airports show up in the Nearest List? I've tried to figure this out the criteria used in generating this list ever since FS9 came out (July 30, 2003).

For a while, I thought is was if the DEST airport is entered into the GPS, it wouldn't show, but this is not the case. I've changed the DEST airport in the GPS and ones we're looking for still doesn't show.

Here's an example flying into Spokane Intl., KGEG: we're within 12nm and it's not included in the list. There are other airports in FS9 that don't show up in the list either.

P.S. they don't show using Farther From YOu option either

Go figure!

Good question sorry I do not have a answer. If we know exactly where it gets the information for the nearest airport list just maybe there is a simple fix. Maybe that is one we need to ask M$ to shed some light on for us.
