When You want to refuel, youll see stations at the airport. in 2004, they look like gas stations. in 2002 they looked like yellow squares with a red box. anyway, just pull up to the station and your gas level will go back to 100%. you dont have to shut down or any thing. good luck.

I certainly suggest you need some flying lessons before you fly around the world.;)

Another comment: if you plan on completing all of them (lessons) plan on flying RTW sometime late next year. I can tell you they are not as easy as you might think.

Good luck with those lessons! Also, if you want to cheat you can hit Ctrl+x to instantly refuel. I, myself, kind of refuse to do that. I figure any flight I take I had better know the limits of my aircraft. The other night I miscalculated and ran out of fuel about 1 mile from the runway at KLAX. Ended up on the coastline. Maybe I could have thought quickly instead of panicking and hit the flaps to increase my speed and range, but didn't do it.  ::)
Anyway, you can always opt for the quick refuel if you don't want to lose your whole flight. Happy simming!

I've had the very same thing Pooty describes happen to me several times.  Another thing to do when you run out of fuel is to quickly go to the FS 2004 main menu and click on the Aircraft item then the Fuel and Payload item.  Click the Fuel Button at the bottom.  Add about 20% fuel to both main tanks then click OK.  When you click OK your engines (if they haven't finished spooling down) they will work normally.

You can do the same to give yourself a fillup at any time.

Yep, either Cntrl+X or the refuel option from the menu are going to be useful when flying around the world. Once you get out of the US you'll run into a lot of airports that don't have fuel available (unless you fly only to major airports). I just refuel from the menu and imagine that I just pumped it from a 55 gallon drum.

raptor619 ~ The way I refuel when there is not a gas pump around is:   During any flight or at the begining of any flight hit your ALT key.  This will bring up a selection menu at the top of your computer screen.  Select Aircraft and if you look at the drop down menu there you will select "Fuel and Payload".  Go there and enter the quantity that you desire, press ok and your off and flying with a tank of gas.....wish it (gas) was that cheap in the real world!  Hope this helps.   8)

Yes, double post.... ;)....sorry, was having problems with the link to Simviation yesterday and thought it had timed out on my 1st post.  But...noooooooooooooo! Tried to eliminate one of the extra posts....however, just like the "B" in the check ride for your private pilots licence....it "kicked my butt out" and posted twice anyway?   8)
