ifdg Airbus A321

Postby MooseMan » Tue Jul 13, 2004 11:48 pm

Hi all-

I recently d/led the new iFDG Airbus A321 - it's awesome! But just one thing was bugging me - takeoffs seem a bit, well, sketchy. The elevator has almost zero effect on the aircraft during takeoff right up until it hits about 145-155 kts; at this point it comes right off the ground. Is that realistic? I know, duh it comes off the ground once it hits TO speed, but the sudden change in the elevator's affect of the airplane seemed a little bit odd. Maybe its just me and my senses are shot from installing 11 repaints of this aircraft and 19 of the default 737-400! Anyone notice this?

PS - Anyone know a good panel for this aircraft?! I NEED one with a half-decent VC! I've searched around but haven't come up with anything good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you set your flaps too much, that happens... Try only doing one or two notches. ;)

I can agree with you, the ifdg A321 does take a "jump" when you rotate, and it has nothing do to with the flap settings ;)

On the note of flaps. They should be set at 15 to 20 degrees on takeoff.

On the note of panels. There are a few A320 panels out there but I could never get them to work properly. I just use the default Boeing 777-300 panel. Also, unlike CFS3, DVCs are built right into the aircraft's mdl file. If the designer didn't include one, then you cannot add one.

Iroquois, airbus has gone away from the traditional flap degree system, Instead flaps for takeoff should in Airbus terms be 1+F (first notch) or flaps 3 (3rd notch), Makes more sense than Boeings flap settings since those does not reflect actual degrees on the flaps  ::)
