RTW in 83 days

Just finished flying around the world on Saturday.

I have a small attraction to numbers so here are some numbers about the trip for those of you thinking of trying it.

Aircraft - Stratojet Excalibur modified to do Mach 2.65.

Departed Seattle for Denver on March 22nd and arrived at Seattle from Prince George, Canada on June 12th.

Made 68 flights totaling 91.0 hours all together.  That includes 12.1 hours of IFR time.

Although this was once around the world I managed to accumulate 44,247.3 nm miles.  That's 1,047.3 nm more than twice around the equator.

The average length of each trip was 1.3 hours and 650.7 nm with an average ground speed of 487 ktas.

The mileage is GPS distance and doesn't include taxi, missed approaches or ATC routing.

The general route was Seattle to JKF to Iceland to Ireland to London, Paris, Germany, Greece, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, India, Indonesia, Australia, the South Pacific, Japan, Russia, Alaska, Canada and back to Seattle.

This is one of those things that you have to tailor to suit yourself but this one worked for me.

I had fun and learned a lot along the way.  Now, I didn't get anywhere near South America so maybe after I get tired of hanging around the house ....  Then again I could fly a Barron around Canada.  Who in their right mind would do that?  (apologies to Cherokee_6  ;D)
