This happens for some unknown reason after I've landed in Rio De Janeiro. I safely put the plane (a 747-400) in park, deplane my sim-passengers, and shut off FS2004.
The next day I return, and I notice that after my startup for the next flight leg to Lima, Peru, my engines are running hot after startup. We're talking about 61% N1, which is about ground acceleration speed, but not Takeoff thrust. In fact, this 61% seems to be the baseline right now, I move my throttle all the way to the bottom and it doesn't move past that point.
If I push F1, (cut throttle) the throttle is cut. The plane safely shuts down just fine. I have tried it with AutoThrottle Engage on and off, and there's no dice.
I did the flight to Lima anyway, it was uneventful except fo r the taxiing. I had to set autospeed to 20 to keep the plane from accelerating too fast. (I've inadvertently gone up to 57 KIAS on the taxiway - ouch!)
I can't think of a thing that could cause this - does anyone have any answers? I always made sure to not have the IAS hold button on, and I've tried it with and without autothrottle. Everything else works fine, reverse thrust, you name it - it's just that my throttles are stuck open, and this might cause me problems in more fuel-critical flights. (Not to mention the wear on the engine! Hehehe)
Thanks,
Seth
