Postby faztech » Sun Apr 04, 2004 6:52 am

Guys,

I fly virtually Boeing 737-400.

How do u guys calculate V1, V2, Vr and approach speed (forgot V?) based on aircraft's weight? and how to determine until what degree to set the flap for take off (e.g flap 5 or 10)?

Jez want to have some realisme.

Thanx for yr concern  :)

You might check in the FS Manuals & Checklists file section. I've downloaded a couple and they had speeds listed for a few things

faztech,

You might look into some of the real pilot's software that is available for such tasks.  I have a flight computer for my Palm handheald that does that kind of stuff for smaller planes.

What you really need is a stand alone flight computer program that would replace the usual one used on the real aircraft.  Anyone know if there is such a beast available?  ???

Not sure if the small program I have would work for an aircraft like the "heavy" you are talking about.  You have to load a lot of info into the Palm database about load and balance points and such....... it might not have the capacity fior such a complex aircraft.

I will be interested in this answer too.

best,

Ian,

Thanks for the website reference.

Were you implying that there was a FM computer program there...... ot just the data stuff?  All I could find was the data.... which was great.
