No not at all. My videos are made in .WMV format. It just so happens that "simradar" converts submitted videos to Realplayer. Anyway, I use two programs to do it. One, which came with my computer (windows XP) is Windows Movie Maker. This allow you to edit the raw footage. Second, Fraps, which allows you to record in game footage. This is available in a few different freeware versions. The newest, Fraps 2, which I use, is payware and cost about $20. You may want to try the freeware versions first. No sound recording and only half screen capabilities. Anyway here is the link -
