Yep, just move the slider but first make sure you want to. If your sim is working OK the way it is then you shouldn't touch the frame rate slider. This setting doesn't always make the sim run faster. If your computer is only capable of 20 fps then setting this slider higher will degrade performance instead of improving it.
The trick is to find a slider position that makes for the best balance between frames per second and overall sim performance. When you find that you should leave it there. I've found the best setting for my computer is to leave the slider set to about 25 fps. This gives me a smooth playing sim and doesn't waste resources trying to maintain a fps setting that my computer can't handle.
