DHC-6-300 Solomon Airlines paint

Postby hjwalter » Thu Jul 16, 2026 9:40 am

I just downloaded and installed Steve Morley's very recently posted Solomon Airlines paint on one of my existing flyable Twin Otter aircraft and the result is absolutely great.
I had requested this paint myself but never thought Steve's reaction would be so quick. Great job !!

Thanks very much for your paint with which I can now fly "low and slow" in a realistic manner between many of the beautiful Solomon Islands, which I have also edited extensively via the EZ-scenery object placement program, in order to make their airfields look far more tropical and a lot less sterile.

Thanks again.
Hans, from behind the dykes in the Netherlands.

I like the idea of flying between the Solomon Islands with more realistic scenery. Does the Twin Otter handle those small island airfields well, especially when landing on shorter runways? I'd love to hear more about your experience.

I fly around my now very scenic Solomon Islands in quite a few different lighter aircraft, including the DH Twin Otter in Solomon paint and have experienced no real (too short) runway issues with any of them ---- yet !! I also fly a Brittain Norman Islander (BN) in Solomon paint but mostly for the shorter island hops.

As AI within the Solomon Islands themselves, I extensively use a DH-6 and a BN, both in Solomon paints. For any AI flights to/from Henderson (AGGH) from/to other countries, I use a DH-8-200 and a EMB-170, both in Solomon paints.

Fondest regards.
