TinMouse II B737-200 Flaps Won't Extend

Postby investdude » Thu Dec 08, 2022 9:33 pm

Recently got a new gaming computer with Windows 10. Installed fs9 which has worked well for me on Windows Xp but my favourite aircraft, the TinMouse II 737-200 will not extend flaps. When selected the needle goes to 1 degree and then returns to up. The TinMouse II works fine in every way with FSX but not fs9. It's probably something fairly simple but I've tried everything I can think of without success and I've run out of ideas. The AVSIM TinMouse support forum seems to be pretty dead, haven't received any response from them. Can anyone help me?

have you tried looking in your aircraft cfg file to see if there is anything related to your flap issue? I would suggest you do that, as that could be the cause of your problem. Hopefully this helps you <<r

Yes, have checked the aircraft.cfg file and the TM.ini file and everything else. The flaps work normally on all other aircraft so it is something in the TinMouse aircraft.

Every aircraft.cfg must have a "flaps" section where the flap angles are specified, usually from 0 (zero) to around 40 degrees. Some also have leading edge slats which should also have a number of such entries in the same aircraft.cfg file.

Does your problem plane's active aircraft.cfg have such a section ? If so, then how do it's entries compare with those in other plane's aircraft.cfg flap entries ?

How do you activate your flaps ? Via buttons/handle on a steering yolk/stick or via keyboard keys ?

Good luck.

Yes, of course the aircraft.cfg file has a flaps section. I have managed to get the flaps working by programing in FSUIPC but now the spoilers don't work because of FS's flawed spoiler control logic and I haven't figured out how to program it in FSUIPC.

There are several different versions of the TinMouse 737-200 including one for FSX. You don't say which version you're having prooblems with. This one works fine for me in FS9 on Windows 10 without any modification. https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=tinmousesb732V2.zip&categoryId=&filename=Y

Thanks Hagar! I was able to get the TinMouse II working eventually in FS9 with your version, although it wasn't easy. Without your help it would have been impossible. Thanks again. Hagar always has the answer!
