Colours of the South Land: VOZ 1.8....

Postby Fozzer » Sun Jul 26, 2015 4:37 am

Just fired up my trusty copy of FS 2004, with my LAGO FSE scenery add-ons, my FS Global SE scenery mesh, my Ultimate Terrain USA Scenery, my FS Navigator moving map.....and also...

...my VOZ 1.8 "Colours of the South Land"..... .....

...and how I wish that was also available for FSX, to show the accurate colours of the parched scenery in California at the moment!

VOZ 1.8 was a wonderful program to change the seasonal scenery texture colours of different parts of the world!

Seems that there is nothing quite like it for "FSX" nowadays!

Paul...FS 2004 and FSX... :D ...!

..tried to install my VOZ 1.8 into my FSX...doesn't work!... ...!

No Southern gas station is complete without General Lee.

We FS 2004 Flyers will remember "VOZ" with much affection!

It also contained the lovely selection of; "Koorbygen" buildings! (Replacing the default ones).

Shame is was never carried over to FSX!.... :( ...!

You have FS2004 with all the "good stuff" AND VOZ and you're still pining for VOZ in FSX? Why?
Don't you already have what you need?

.....I like having the best of BOTH Worlds!.... ....!

The ability to "colour" my ground scenery using "VOZ" is the only thing missing in my FSX... :( ...!

(Note: FSX includes ground-based, moving vehicle traffic, for added realism, which FS 2004 doesn't have).

I also like regularly comparing the two programs!...FSX/FS 2004.... :D ...!

Paul.... ...!

... I also like running my Flight Unlimited I/II/III, Pro Pilot '99, FLY!, FS '98, FS 2000, FS 2002, etc....for scenery comparison... ;) ... ;) ...!

Paul
I bought the MEGA SCENERY CALIFORNIA SOUTH CD's for FSX and it is not bad for some of the dryer locations. It is better in a single engine going low and slow.

Ta for the heads-up, Garry... :D ...!

The only thing that worries me a little bit, is that it appears to be Photo-scenery!

Something that I have avoided in the past, (having tried it), as it appears to lose the "live" Autogen scenery when very close to the ground, or actually on the ground, where I spend most of my time exploring!

At the moment I am enjoying the delights of Ultimate Terrain USA and Canada, for FSX (and FS 2004) in conjunction with FS Global (mesh), which really shows extremely accurate scenery, including all roads, tracks, and rivers, etc... ....

...its just that VOZ for FS 2004 was a wonderful program for changing the seasonal colour of the landscape down below!

Selecting "Alice Springs" texture colour in Central Australia, gave a reddish/yellow hue to the desert scenery in the South West USA!... :D ...!

...but I really do prefer MS Autogen scenery over Photographic scenery....

...Autogen Trees actually wave in the breeze.... ;) .... ....!

It would just be nice to change the texture "colour" in FSX, to suit the various seasonal areas of vegetation or desert, etc....which VOZ did very well!... :D ...!

Paul...very low and very slow.... ...!

Just been hugging the "Russian River" from Healdsburg to the Pacific Ocean in Northern Cal, FSX, in my Bensen Gyrocopter! A wonderful scenic trip!.... ....!

Tip: I would steer clear of the South Eastern USA at the moment, in both FS 2004 and FSX... ;) ... ;) ...!

It is photo scenery but it is not that bad, and it does replace the autogen scenery. When this came out I thought I might want to get the whole set of all the states But I have changed my mind. Being that this is photo real scenery it looks its best at altitudes below 15,000 feet. But even in the real world one cannot expect to see any kind of detail above 10,000 feet
Right now all I have is Florida and Southern California.

I must confess that that strange; "Southern Redneck" accent modifies/destroys the brains of we folks from across the Atlantic Ocean!

Pacific West and South-Western USA English accents are quite normal....(apart from the Female Newscasters!).... ;) ...!
