Aircraft for use as observation platform

Good day to all at Simviation.

What I am looking for is a small winged aircraft, for use as a patrol aircraft over suburbs assisting the police or traffic control.

Must be capable of slow and low flying, low stall speed, be able to be airborne up to 3 hours and be able to land on rough terrain. Seating capacity pilot + 2 passengers.

Any recommendations. My OR FS2004 with Win 7

Try this Foxbat. Cockpit is 1ft wider than Cesna 152 and is powered by a Rotax 912 engine. Lovely Police plane, made in Ukraine.

Thank you for the response wrt to slow and low flying aircraft's.

I select the Edgley Optica for urban patrol, and the Vulcanair P68 for Highway patrol.

Fozzer, I have tried many times to fly a helicopter, sad to say every flight ended up in a crash.

I've been trying to master the mystery of Helicopter Flying for the past 15 years in the Flight Sims....

I give up, every time!....Its NEVER going to work!... ...!

Now...Gyrocopters/Gyroplanes are a different kettle of fish altogether!

They fly just like a regular aeroplane, with just a single, free-spinning, rotary wing overhead (no tail rotor required!).

They are loads of fun, and can take off and land, in a couple of feet, anywhere.

The little single seat "Bensen" Gyrocopter (FS 2004, but also works in FSX) is one of my favourites, it is a great little craft for slow, low level, explorations!

I am glad to hear that there are also other people, that find it difficult to fly a helicopter.

Thank you for the link to download the Benson Gyro copter. Well I am sure a person can get hooked, flying it when you have a minute or 2 spare doing nothing.

The link to your tube is also great seeing the 2 seat tandem model.

Why don't the authorities at airports where there are a lot of birds, use gyro-copters to chase them away?. There are not many Gyro-copters in the Western Cape. I think it must be due to the strong South-Easter and North-Western wind.

Depending on how rough the landings might be, another possible candidate that is a much more substantial aircraft might be PAD's MU-2E.

Applying the standard MU-2 Solitaire N924PD paint job to the E model makes for a passable police ship, even has "PD" in the registration.

Didn't seem to have a problem buzzing around during Friday's Tomball Homecoming parade. It was low enough that I could make out the word "Police" in gold on its side. The new one ($85,000) is painted black and white.
