FS2004 Crashing

Postby quincysw » Mon Aug 25, 2014 7:21 am

I am running FS2004 on windows 7 and using a B737-400 with PFE and FDC. Everything seems to be ok until 5 minutes into the flight when FS crashes and the screen goes completely black and I have to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete
Any help would be much appreciated

regards

My first question is are you sure this plane is for FS9?
Second question Is this the only aircraft that this is happening ?
Third Question is FS9 installed in the folder PROGRAM FILES? If so you need to move it
Windows 7 And Windows 8 protect the Program File folder and as a result some third party software such as the plane you downloaded will not work correctly.
It has to do with PRIVILEGES
I know other people have no problems with FS9 running in the default location but they may not have the same planes as you have.
All I know is from everything I have read it is advised not to install FS9 OR FSX in the default location.
The best place for them is on a second hard drive. If a second hard drive is not available than put it anyplace but not in the PROGRAM FILES folder.
